i don't know why, but my life has been full of super weird people that makes me go 0.o

my tutor is one example. one day after tuition, it was pouring and since my tutor lives like, about a minute's drive away from me, he said, "Want me to give you a lift home? i'm about to go out anyway."

to which, i replied, "oh no it's okay. i can walk home myself. but can i borrow an umbrella?"

so he said, "are you sure or not! you may have to swim home!" -does breast stroke action-

"oh it's okay! i am a certified swimmer. hey, can i change into my swimming costume in your toilet?"

HAHA of course i didn't say that. that was what jasmine told me i should say. next time if he ever asks me to swim home again or smth, i shall use that line!

so the next lesson, my homework was half done, with incomplete sentences and everything, since that week in school had chem pt chem spa and math test, which nearly drove me mad.

he looked at my incomplete sentence (incomplete as in abruptly cut off. i think i was half chem pting and half doing his homework at that time or smth) and said, "TSK. I BET YOU ARE WATCHING TV WHILE DOING WORK RIGHT?" (i wanted to say no i am not as free as you think i am but that would be kind of rude haha so i just kept quiet.)

for the next few questions, i did everything all wrong, so he went "haiyou, you must be at the most exciting part of your show right now."

i change tutors like changing underwear, as you know. haha hard to find a good one! i am extremely picky. Everytime they see my test papers, they will go, "oh, so you are a language student?" because they think my sciences are so bad. i am very insulted okay. last time, i would have gone, "oh, it's okay." but it's taking a toll on my morale, so now i go, "YES. MY LANGUAGES ARE SUPER!! GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT." ok, maybe not in that tone .

and my dad is another weird pok.

i was minding my own business watching tv for the first time in a week or smth, then he came over and said, "HELLO. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

"don't disturb me lah! i'm watching tv!"

"AWWWW. now i have no more friends to talk to me! Don chased me out of the room too. i'm so sad!" and i quote word for word.

and later on, while he was reading the newspapers,
"singapore has 11000 millionaires! and i am not one of them. THIS IS VERY UPSETTING!"

haha okay i don't know whether its 1100 millionaires or what, since i was still watching ghost whisperer at that point of time and didn't really listen to him.

oh well, nevermind, i shall be a future millionaire to make up for it! (((:

ak prac a few days ago was sweltering hot. i swear i was combusting right at the foyer.
lisa was complaining, "ugh, i hate global warming!!!"

so i said, "YEAH! why can't it get colder instead?! like in antartica."

"no, why would it get colder in antartica?"

"isn't it, the the hotter places get hotter and the colder places get colder? 0.o"

"NO?! it's called global warming for a reason, Crystal." and she gives me a duh face.

haha that is why i am a history student. but to defend myself, i do know what is global warming! i just forgot, that's all!!

eh and i realised this post is totally random! 0.o

just like that? says:

they are damn irritating. seriously there shudnt be a nd for chem pt briefing if they are nt going to tell us all these details. and they cant blame it on us either for nt asking because we wudnt know until we start doing! like wth? whats wrng with their freaking egotistic brains thinking we are all students who JUST CANT DO WELL. omg?

d says:
chem they never test anything they teach.
or rather they nvr teach anything they test one lorh.

WEL SAID, WELL SAID.

when there is congress at the end of the year, i will go up to the mike and go,

"The chemistry department sucks. Thank you."

THEN, I will go back to my seat amidst all applause and cheering.

haha like i will ever do that. but i am tempted to.

met qingyun yesterday for lunch at westmall. after lunch, we decided we should be good kids and study, so i invited her over to my house. We alighted at the bus stop and was walking toward to the side gate, but i realised i left my condo card at home so i couldn't use it to scan and get in by the side gate. PLAN A: We either had to walk all the way to the main gate or PLAN B: climb over the fence. so obviously we chose option number 2! but not like we succeeded anyway hahaha

me: omg, i didn't bring the card! HOW. LET'S CLIMB OVER THE FENCE! but you climb okay, cos i'm wearing a skirt ((:

qy: hahahahah OKAY!

so the plan was that she climbs over and opens the side gate for me to get in (: she was halfway up the fence when she said, "DON'T WANT LAH. the road got so many cars! later some random person take picture then send it to STOMP how?! WHAT ABT THE CAMERAS. i don't want to get arrested!"

well. i didn't tell her that was the plan (her getting on front page) so i could have a laugh about it.
obviously, PLAN B failed, so we ended up walking all the way to the main gate -.-

and since the studying was going so well, we decided to have a study sleepover at her place! (I DIDN'T INTEND TO STUDY LAH PLS. but i ended up doing math until 4am anyway ): ) so at 4am, we went up to her room to sleep.

-jiggles door knob to her room- LOCKED.

me: oh. does that mean we have no where to sleep in?
qy: yup! you wanna go pick a sofa?

apparently her sister locked us out by accident, WONDERFUL RIGHT. 4am in the morning, with no beds to sleep in. so we ended up on the couch in the living room -.-

BUT WE DECIDED TO GO FOR A MIDNIGHT, a 4 am one actually, ADVENTURE. we had this brilant plan of sneaking out of the house to go to the playground! SO EXCITING RIGHT OMG. shivers ran down my spine as she unlocked the door and i rubbed my hands in glee! we tiptoed out... ... and realised she didn't have the key to the gate.

so yes. that was the end of our thrilling adventure. how anti climax -.- but even though we couldn't make it to the park, we managed to make it about 4m far huh. how cool!

i am never never ever going to study until 4am eve again. i don't know how people pull all nighters!! seriously.

CAMPUS SUPERSTAR! jasmine, yunting and i got our tickets from chenhoon, who had 20 to give away. i was super excited to be catching it live at the theatre, after all you hardly see these kind of things live!

after several excruciating loud phonecalls with jasmine and yunting which involved a lot of screaming, we finally arranged where when to meet. Jasmine was freaking out cos she thought she'd be the first to reach there, since i was still at home while she was on her way there.

me: " I am still at home! i think i am going to be late!"

jas: " @$%^&*()_YOU BETTER HURRY UP!" (she starts screaming incoherently hence the !@$%^*() ) god knows why we always end up screaming and laughing at each other when we speak. mrs ang should be very familiar with this hahaha

in the end, we ended waiting until the sun set for yuxuan and pingfang. yuxuan still dared to wave at us when the taxi arrive. like some vip eh? haha overall it was super cool, the stage crew was running all over the place, giving hand signals and counting down when we're going to go on air again. i realised the acoustics were much better at the theatre than on tv!

during the hour long break between the show and the results, we went scouting for food since noone had dinner. ended up queuing up for this instant sandwich machine. then yanyee's uh, friend came over and said, HEWLO! I WANT THE CHEEEKIEN! in this super weird accent. like 0.o?! i wondered if he noticed the 3 of us trying not to choke over at the side.

met angela and stephanie from mgs there too. apparently they recognised me, but i didn't recognise them. and it's like the second time i've seen angela out of school. and both times she said " hi, you're crystal right!" i would stare blankly back and say yeah, and uhm you are? how embarrassing when someone remembers you and you don't hahaha.

for the record, cheekien guy was from acs and made a total scene while we were recording the results with his skeleton mask. i think he may end up on i zhou kan or smth!

yup that's sums up the campus super star day! although i don't know jiajun personally, quite sad she's out! after all, we rg should support our fellow school mates!

FRANCE GROUP GATHERING! i knew that everyone would wind up late, so i took my time getting out of the house. but i had to wait fifteen minutes for the bus and i forgot that it was peak hour too. so yes. i ended up half an hour late. not that the rest had to wait very long for me, since everyone arrived a bit late too and yingqi came even later than me! had dinner at pizza hut (and it was the first time in my entire 16 years that i have eaten something other than hawaiian. don't know why, but the people i'm with always order hawaiian! sad, i know!) the gathering was super anti climax, since noone knew what to do after dinner so we just hung around plaze sing watching all the shops close -.- then we went home. told you it was anti climax! we should totally have another gathering, like in september or something (:

and go read my sister's keeper by jodi picoult! yes i do realised that i am quite slow since this book came out and got famous a year or two ago, but i could never find it in the library. okay not that i did manage to finally find it in a library haha. it is super nice although i hate sad endings.(rowling better not kill off harry ron and hermione!!!) poor family. it makes me thankful that i am stuck in this place living this life compared to the dysfunctional Fitzgerald family. after all, being stuck in hell with failing grades seems like nothing compared to the family with a cancer stricken sister, another sister filing a lawsuit against her parents and a delinquent brother.

chem pt is pissing me off. my copper2 solution spilled all over my bag but i didn't notice cos my bag is black. so it crystallised and now i have stupid blue patches of crystals all over my bag. and they can't be removed cos they somehow crystallised onto the material of my bag. i probably have to wash it or smth. -.-

VIVA LA FRANCE!

France trip 07

(UPDATED WITH MORE PICTURES!)

Day 1:

Everyone stared when we took goodness knows how many group pictures in the airport before we checked in. Waited for ages to board to plane to KL, since the laopok plane had major problems. Our flight to KL was about 15 minutes delayed (apparently the engine and the air-conditioning system had some problem) so we nearly missed the connecting flight to Paris. When we landed in KL, everyone ran lke crazy to the next gate which had to be right at the end of the airport. We were the last to board and the passengers in the plane cheered when we finally took off! ...and then it was a straight 13 hours to Paris' Charles De Gaulle!

We stood for like 15 minutes with the banner to take the photos, no kidding.

Day 2:

Another street scene of Paris with L'arc de Triomphe in the background!

River Seine. I think I should be a photographer! The picture looks like a postcard pic right!

L'arc de Triomphe up close!

Love the weather in France! Everyone (or rather I) was having fun blowing smoke. that was about the coldest weather we experienced. Had a bus tour around Paris. We went to see the Bastille (or what is left of it) and some other places which I can’t remember, oops. The bits of rocks left from the Bastille were just kind of sad looking.

First stop: Lourve Museum. I think the Mona Lisa is over rated! I expected it to be huge and whatever, but it turned out to be this small little painting. Yeah, she does look at you wherever you walk to, but then again, so does the dragon at the Singapore Science Centre, no? I guess I just can’t appreciate fine art.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Olly and I with her classic act cute pose. Sorry, you'll just have to make do with this picture of the lourve since I can't seem to find the group picture with the famous pyramids!

Second stop: Visited Les Invalides which was basically about Napoleon, something we didn’t learn in class as this was after the French Revolution. Checked in hotel and went to dinner. Olly and I were lucky to get the room with the big adjoining room and toilet(: everyone was rather jealous of us hahaha

Day 3:

Highlight of the day. Tour de Eiffel! We waited for ages in the queue and went up to the second floor. The top of the Eiffel tower had the whole of Paris with the River Seine running through.

(Digress: I am going to get proposed on the Eiffel Tower! My boyfriend will book the whole Eiffel tower at night. We will have dinner overlooking the night view and then he will go down on one knee and pop the question with the whole city alight. Awww. Tres romantique! Hey hey don’t laugh at me, at least I didn’t aspire to name all my kids Clam Chow De, unlike some people 0.o)

Our hotel room bed!

(Nah, just kidding. that's Marie Antoinette's big ass bed in the Versailles. Sad huh. )

We went to Versailles, the place where King Louis and Marie Antoinette lived. Due to some problems, we almost couldn’t get into the Versailles, so in the end we just had to run through most of the exhibits.

Then we went to Drancy, the memorial site for the French Deportion Camp for Jews. After that was just dinner in Grumpy Town (aka Verdun, but I actually liked Grumpy Town because it’s so peaceful!) Checked into another hotel. Lucky us again, we got the big double room. It had a king size bed and a small single one! Guess who got the small bed! Mini bed for mini me. (sorry, I just couldn’t help praising myself for being such a magnanimous person hahaha although I didn't mind the small bed.)

Group jump shot at Verdun!

Day 4:

Day 4 was anti climax. visited museums after museums!

Us, dilligently discussing millitary strategies!

Day 5:

Village les Vieux Metiers (how peasants used to live in France) and the Ecomusee (woollen mill)

I liked Day 5, personally. thought the village and the woollen mill was kind of cool! after that, we checked into this youth hostel which wasn't that bad actually, but just the little toilet problem, where we had to go everywhere in a group. and yes, I had to pee at 3am in the middle of the morning of all timings. so for the sake for everyone, i decided to hold my pee. 2 hours later, i couldn't take it and everyone had to pee with me. HAHA i'm sorry ): but at least you all had 2 more hours of uninterrupted sleep? sort of, since i think i woke olivia up tossing and turning in my bed above. whoops. the toilet thing was so troublesome i didn't even shower for 2 days but only washed my hair in the sink. Don't say it's gross, because I still smell quite nice at the end of the day. You hardly sweat in aircon temperature anyway.

Day 7:

La Couple. Had a lot to do with rockets and WWII.

Day 8:

Drove for 6 hours to the D Day Museum in Normandy. This museum's really cool! Not like those boring one's where all you see are pictures and stuff. It's about the Normandy landings. (oh and Happy Birthday to Mary and Yunting!)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
At Normandy Beach. You can see a ship in the background. (At least that's what I think it is)

Pretty right? (I meant the people, not the scenery duh!)

Day 9:

Went to Musee du Debarquement and the 360 degrees cinema, Ohmaha beach for picnic lunch, American Cemetery and the German Cemetery.

Then checked in to Hotel Levassuer (ensuite toilets finally!!) I was lying on my bed enjoying the after effects of my shower. While Olivia was in the bathroom, I decided to channel surf. Then I saw these 2 flesh moving things on the tv screen. Since I was far away from the tv without my specs I couldn't see very well. so I moved closer and froze in shock. Full frontal view of their dirty deed!! you could see every single detail clearly omg. and i don't think it's a scene from a movie or something, but a channel dedicated to these kind of stuff! Not that I stayed long enough, but it's pretty obviuos the way they filmed it! I can't believe the french are so liberal, seriously. Damn traumatised for the rest of the night Olivia got very excited when I told her there was porn on TV after she came out of the bathroom though haha JK I enjoyed my Celine Dion french concert way better, thank you very much. For the next few days, whenever someone said something wrong, this mental picture will pop up in my mind. I was really disturbed by it for the next 24 hours.

Day 10:

Visited the Chateau where this queen had this place built to entertain her guests or something. It was bugs galore though. After that was back to Paris. Jasleen abandoned Rui Ling for her exended holiday in Paris, the lucky pig. So guess who got stuck with Rui Ling? haha kidding, not that we minded.

Outside the Chateau

... and we got lost!

Day 11/12:

Flight back to KL, then Singapore! Rui Ling left her hp in the KL airport, so the crew had to fly the phone back especially for her. I was really amused at this.

and when we finally landed, everyone got through the customs already except for her who couldn't find her passport and she went, "Crystal, do you have my passport??" i was sure i didn't, but i just checked my bag to make her feel better haha. the guy at the counter yelled at me, " EH EH, ONE WAY ONLY MISS!" yeah thanks for that little helpful tip. How did you know I was about to dash back into the customs and drag my friend out of the airport by the hand without the entire police force chasing after us? But then she found her passport in her bag anyway -.- selenger!

Speaking of the customs, Olly also took a damn long time to get through the customs in Paris. Everyone stared at her while she emptied her pockets full of stones, rocks and coins. (The rocks and stones are for you, Pei Ting, in case you were wondering). classic scene man.

OLIVIA! hahaha thanks for putting up with my crap and everything, when i'm not exactly the best morning person and especially when my nose throat ears really made me grumpy. Sorry if i did piss you off at certain times, i didn't mean it. -gives puss in boots ala olivia act cute expression- and I know I said that I will laugh at you if your luggage ever splits open at the customs every night while I watch you pack and (try desperately to) lock your luggage, but if it really splits open, I really really wouldn't have laughed. (maybe just giggle quietly in a corner or something while offering you my luggage space). yup, just want to say that it was fun hanging around with you, while it lasted yeah? Thanks for being such an awesome partner/room mate for the trip!

PS I think you should let your hair down more often, you look cuter(:

PPS one more thing, being your ex room mate/partner for the france trip and all, i really think you should seriously think about renaming your future kids. (this, i am very really really sincere about!)

Overall, this trip had been really fun. To think I actually considered dropping out, since going away for 12 days to some foreign place with a bunch of people you don't know well can be kind of intimidating. It's been definitely an experience. (though i personally wouldn't want to go on anymore educational school trips.) Learnt lots of things like how to play bridge. The next trip I go without family would definitely be a non educational one! and i am still incredibly jealous of fang (VJ actually gets to go on non educational trips to Italy and all sorts of countries (read, "holiday") with the entire cohort! )

The thing I missed most about France are the people, especially my group (which consisted of Nurul, Mary the act cool, Jas, Selenger, Ying Qi aka Huihui's twin, Bengbeng, Sam, Rachel, Big Beng and I!) Had France withdrawal symptons a few hours after i reached home. Looking forward to seeing you guys again during group outing! (:

Guess which shoe is mine!

To end off this super long post, this is what France does to you, or Rui Ling, for that matter.

(In case you all couldn't tell, no surprise, she was trying to act like a cow. For the record, France has a lot of cows, olivia can testify.)

Sorry Rui Ling, i couldn't resist!! they look super spastic! I'll take them down if you ask nicely. hahaha.

and i'm back from France! truckloads to blog about, but i can't be bothered right now! maybe later, when i'm still awake when everyone's asleep. i really shouldn't have slept when i got home ): i kind of miss france now! and the people.

my nose is bleeding like a waterfall and my whole desk is a bloody mess. it feels like i'm having my period now. just from the wrong hole.

france trip 07 part 1 coming right up! (by end of june!)
